Reporting Food Poisoning!

by Food Poisoning Lawyer Tony Coveny, January 2016

A state-by-state list of how to go about reporting food poisoning to local authorities.  This is very important, and though most of us are unaware of what to do when we get food poisoning, or how to go about reporting food poisoning to the proper authorities, doing so is vital.  Reporting food poisoning to the proper authorities does several things.  (1) First, it makes authorities aware of a problem so they can begin an investigation;  (2) Second, it enables investigators to identify how wide-spread a food poisoning outbreak is; (3) it provides another source of information to enable health authorities to pinpoint what food item is making people sick; (4) it creates a record of your illness that can help protect your legal rights when you contact a food poisoning lawyer; and (5) it enables your food poisoning lawyer, when combined with other discovery in a food poisoning lawsuit or claim, to identify the failings of the  food manufacturer or restaurant.  Each of these are vital in both the short and long term in preventing additional food poisoning cases in the United States.

IMPORTANT: IN ADDITION TO REPORTING YOU FOOD POISONING TO THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT, IT IS VITAL YOU BE MINDFUL OF THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS FOR FOOD POISONING CASES IN EACH OF THE 50 STATES!  CONTACT A FOOD POISONING LAWYER NOW!
